a note about our virtual option:
Early on, we decided to concentrate the bulk of our resources and energies to ensuring the in-person event was secure, accommodating, and welcoming - in spite of the world's ever-changing regulations and situations. However, we knew that many of our regular attendees would not be making the trip, and we knew that we had to have a baseline virtual plan in place - because of the world's ever-changing regulations and situations. This is how we've determined our virtual option.
Our virtual "conference" is a straightforward opportunity for a pre-selected group of presenters (mostly international) to share their work with our audience, and for those who can't attend in person to be somewhat connected to the in-person community. We are very simply using Zoom as our platform. Registered virtual attendees will receive login access to the virtual conference landing page, which will list the schedule of events, plus webinar links to each individual keynote and presentation. All registered in-person attendees will also receive login access. This is not a true hybrid event: in-person presenters are responsible for managing their own hybrid presentations, and are free to distribute those links, and moderate those virtual sessions as they wish. CADD will not be publicizing those links (as they conflict with our virtual schedule). Every virtual presentation will be listed in the in-person CADD program, and every virtual presentation is broadcast in a dedicated room in the arts center. As of now, there is no plan to save recordings for future viewing. All events will be streamed live. |
